The inch-pound (symbol: in·lbf) is a unit of energy equal to the work done by a force of one pound-force acting through a distance of one inch, approximately 0.112985 joules. It is used in mechanical engineering, particularly for expressing small torques in fastener specifications and precision instrumentation. One inch-pound equals 1/12 of a foot-pound.
Joule
