Merge CSV Files into One
Merge several CSV files into one in your browser, matching columns by name even when they are in a different order, with an optional column for the file name.
What it does
Monthly exports, reports from several stores or survey downloads often arrive as many CSV files with the same kind of data. This tool reads all of them, detects the separator of each one, and stacks their rows into a single table. With header matching on, columns are lined up by name, so Name, Value in one file and value; NAME in another end up in the same columns.
How to use it
- Choose the CSV files (you can select several at once).
- Choose whether to match columns by header and add the file name, and check the preview.
- Download the merged CSV or Excel file.
Frequently asked questions
What if the files have different columns?
Columns with the same name are merged, ignoring upper and lower case and extra spaces, and a column found in only some files is added at the end, empty for the others.
Is the header repeated in the merged file?
No. With header matching, the header appears once at the top. Without it, the files are simply joined one after the other, line by line.
Can the files use different separators?
Yes. The separator of each file (comma, semicolon, tab or vertical bar) is detected on its own, and the merged file uses the one you choose.
