What it does
Photos carry hidden data: the camera or phone model, the date and time and, when location was on, the exact GPS position where the picture was taken. Anyone who receives the original file can read it. This tool shows what the file contains and removes the EXIF, XMP and IPTC blocks and comments, copying the image data untouched, so the quality does not change.
How to use it
- Choose an image from your device, or drag it onto the page.
- Adjust the options and check the result in the preview.
- Download the new image; the original file is not changed.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is processed by your browser on your own device and never leaves it, which also makes the tool work offline once the page has loaded.
Do social networks remove the location from my photos?
Most big social networks strip EXIF when you post, but email, cloud links, messaging apps that send files as documents and many websites keep it. Cleaning the file yourself is the safe option.
