Shoe Size Converter
Convert shoe sizes between Brazil, Europe, US, UK, Japan, Mexico, Korea and China for adults and kids, from your foot length or the size you already wear.
- Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall.
- Mark the tip of your longest toe and measure from the wall to the mark, in centimeters.
- Measure both feet at the end of the day, when they are largest, and use the longer one.
What it does
Each country numbers shoes in its own unit: Europe and Brazil use the Paris point (2/3 cm), the UK and the US use the barleycorn (1/3 inch) with different starting points, and Japan, Mexico, Korea and China use the foot length itself. This converter starts from the length of your foot, the one measure all systems share, and gives the equivalent size in each of them.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Brazilian size the same as the European?
No. Brazilian sizes are about one number smaller than European ones: a Brazilian 38 is roughly a European 39.
Are US men's and women's sizes different?
Yes. For the same foot, the US women's size is one number higher than the men's: a US men's 7 is about a US women's 8.
Why does my size change from brand to brand?
Each brand uses its own lasts (the shoe forms), and sports, dress and children's shoes are cut differently. Measuring your foot and comparing it with the brand's chart is the safest way to choose.
How do kids' sizes work?
Kids' shoes use the same European and Brazilian scale, while the UK and US have a separate children's scale that restarts after size 13.5. Leave about one centimeter of room for growth.
