What it does
Paste a list of names and get random, balanced teams in one click: choose how many teams you want or how many people go in each one. The names are shuffled with your device's cryptographic random number generator, and the team sizes never differ by more than one person. Generate again for a new draw, and copy the result to share it.

Frequently asked questions
Are the teams really random?
Yes. The list is shuffled with the Fisher-Yates algorithm and the cryptographic random number generator of your device, which gives every possible order the same chance, and each person has the same probability of ending up in any team.
What happens if the names do not divide evenly?
The extra people are spread over the teams one by one, so team sizes differ by at most one. With 10 people and 4 per team, you get teams of 4, 3 and 3 rather than two teams of 4 and one of 2.
Can I balance the teams by skill?
Not automatically. A simple way is to generate the teams for each skill level separately and then join them, or to split the strongest players by hand first.
Is the list saved?
Only in this browser, so it is there next time. Nothing is sent to a server.
