Dyne-meter

The dyne-meter (dyn·m) is a unit of torque in the centimetre-gram-second (CGS) system, equal to the torque produced by a force of one dyne acting at a perpendicular distance of one meter. One dyne is equal to 10⁻⁵ newtons, so one dyne-meter equals 10⁻⁵ N·m. This unit is occasionally used in older scientific literature and CGS-based calculations.

Newton-meter

The newton-metre (also newton metre; symbol N⋅m or N m) is a unit of torque (also called moment) in the SI system. One newton-metre is equal to the torque resulting from a force of one newton applied perpendicularly to the end of a moment arm that is one metre long. The nonstandard notation Nm occurs in some fields.
