Convert ton (long) to kg
Ton (Long)
The long ton (also known as the weight ton or gross ton) is a unit of mass in the British imperial system equal to 2,240 avoirdupois pounds, or approximately 1,016.05 kilograms. It is heavier than the US short ton (2,000 lb) and slightly heavier than the metric ton (1,000 kg). The long ton is still used in certain industries in the United Kingdom, as well as in international shipping for vessel displacement tonnage.
Kilogram-force
The kilogram-force ( kgf or kg F ), or kilopond ( kp , from Latin: pondus , lit. 'weight'), is a gravitational metric unit of force. It is equal to the magnitude of the force exerted on one kilogram of mass in a 9.80665 m/s 2 gravitational field (standard gravity, a conventional value approximating the average magnitude of gravity on Earth). Therefore, one kilogram-force is by definition equal to 9.806 65 N. Similarly, a gram-force is 9.806 65 mN, and a milligram-force is 9.806 65 μN.
