Convert ton (short) to kg
Ton (Short)
The short ton is a unit of mass in the US customary system equal to 2,000 avoirdupois pounds, or approximately 907.185 kilograms. It is the most common meaning of the word "ton" in the United States and is used in commerce, industry, and everyday life. The short ton is lighter than both the long ton (2,240 lb) used in the United Kingdom and the metric ton (1,000 kg).
Kilogram-force
The kilogram-force ( kgf or kg F ), or kilopond ( kp , from Latin: pondus , lit. 'weight'), is a gravitational metric unit of force. It is equal to the magnitude of the force exerted on one kilogram of mass in a 9.80665 m/s 2 gravitational field (standard gravity, a conventional value approximating the average magnitude of gravity on Earth). Therefore, one kilogram-force is by definition equal to 9.806 65 N. Similarly, a gram-force is 9.806 65 mN, and a milligram-force is 9.806 65 μN.
