What it does
These tools search the ENABLE word list, about 172,000 English words in the public domain and the list behind many word games, in your browser. Common words, from the Wiktionary frequency lists, are shown first and in bold; rare ones are still valid in most games. Offensive words have been removed.
How to use it
- Type the word you played in Wordle in the first row.
- Tap each letter until its color matches the game: gray, yellow or green.
- Pick one of the best next guesses, play it and add its colors in the next row.
Frequently asked questions
How does the solver choose the best guess?
For each possible answer, it counts how many different color patterns that word would produce against all the others. A guess that splits the answers into more groups leaves fewer words on average. Common words are ranked first, since Wordle answers are everyday words.
How are repeated letters handled?
Exactly as in Wordle: green letters are matched first, then each yellow uses up one copy of the letter, and any extra copy is gray. So if you guess SPEED and the answer has one E, one E is yellow or green and the other is gray.
Is this cheating?
Wordle is a game for fun, so it is up to you. Many players use a solver to learn better strategies, check a puzzle after finishing it or get unstuck on a hard day.
