The kilovolt-ampere (kVA) is a unit of apparent power in AC electrical systems, equal to 1000 volt-amperes. It expresses the total power supplied to a circuit, combining both active (real) power and reactive power. The ratio of real power in kilowatts to apparent power in kVA is known as the power factor.
