Convert dyne per square centimeter to pascal
Dyne per Square Centimeter
The dyne per square centimetre (dyn/cm²), also called the barye, is the CGS unit of pressure, equal to 0.1 pascal. It was the standard pressure unit in the centimetre–gram–second system before the adoption of the SI. Although largely superseded by the pascal, it is still occasionally encountered in older scientific literature and some specialised fields.
Pascal
The pascal (Pa) is the SI derived unit of pressure, defined as one newton per square metre (N/m²). It was adopted by the General Conference on Weights and Measures in 1971 and named after the French mathematician and physicist Blaise Pascal. Standard atmospheric pressure is approximately 101,325 Pa, and it is widely used in science, engineering, and meteorology.
