Petapascal

The petapascal (symbol: PPa) is a unit of pressure equal to 10¹⁵ pascals, formed by applying the SI prefix peta- to the pascal. Pressures in this range exist in the deep interiors of large planets and are studied in high-pressure physics and planetary science. Experimental diamond anvil cells can approach, but rarely reach, petapascal-scale pressures.

Pascal

The pascal (Pa) is the SI derived unit of pressure, defined as one newton per square metre (N/m²). It was adopted by the General Conference on Weights and Measures in 1971 and named after the French mathematician and physicist Blaise Pascal. Standard atmospheric pressure is approximately 101,325 Pa, and it is widely used in science, engineering, and meteorology.
