Split Image into a Grid (Instagram 3×3 and More)
Split an image into a grid of 3×3, 3×1 or any rows and columns for an Instagram profile, a carousel or a print, and download all tiles in a ZIP.
On Instagram, post the tiles from the last one (bottom right) to the first, so they line up in order on your profile.

What it does
This tool cuts an image into equal tiles in your browser: a 3 × 3 grid for a large picture across an Instagram profile, a 3 × 1 panorama for a swipeable carousel, or any number of rows and columns for posters and puzzles. The tiles keep the original quality and are numbered by row and column.
Everything happens in your browser: the image is opened, changed on a canvas and saved again on your device, and nothing is uploaded. Photos from phones that are stored sideways with an orientation tag are turned the right way first, so what you see is what you get.
How to use it
- Choose an image from your device, or drag it onto the page.
- Adjust the options and check the result in the preview.
- Download the new image; the original file is not changed.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is processed by your browser on your own device and never leaves it, which also makes the tool work offline once the page has loaded.
How do I make a 3 × 3 grid for Instagram?
Choose Instagram 3 × 3 with square tiles. A 1080 × 1080 image becomes nine tiles of 360 × 360 px; post them from the ninth to the first.
What happens if the image is not square?
With square tiles the centre is cropped to fit the grid: a 1200 × 800 photo in 3 × 3 keeps the central 800 × 800 and gives tiles of about 267 px. Without it, the tiles keep the shape of the image.
