What text analysis is for
Counting is quick but it answers real questions: whether a text fits a limit, how long it takes to read, and which words are being repeated without anyone noticing.
- Stay inside the character limits of titles, meta descriptions and interface copy.
- Estimate the reading time of an article or a piece of documentation.
- Spot repetition and filler by looking at which words come up most often.
Text analyzer FAQ
Why is the word count different from my editor?
Because each tool decides differently what counts as a word: hyphens, numbers, symbols and apostrophes are treated in different ways.
Is the reading time exact?
No, it is an estimate based on an average of 200 words per minute. Dense or technical text takes longer.
Does the text leave my computer?
No. The whole analysis runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere.
