Grain per US gallon (gpg) is a unit used primarily to express water hardness in the United States, where one grain equals 64.799 milligrams of calcium carbonate equivalent per US gallon (3.785 liters). It is the standard measure used by American water softener manufacturers and plumbers to rate water hardness. One grain per US gallon equals xấp xỉ 17.12 milligrams per liter (mg/L or ppm).
