Voice Changer

Free online voice changer: record your voice or open a file and apply robot, chipmunk, deep, monster, alien, telephone, echo and more. Download as MP3 or WAV.

Your voice stays on your device: the effects are computed in this browser tab and nothing is uploaded.

What it does

This voice changer applies effects to a recording of your voice or to any audio file. The pitch is changed without changing the speed (and the speed without changing the pitch) with a time-stretching method called WSOLA; the robot and whisper effects rebuild the sound frame by frame from its spectrum. Everything runs in your browser, so you can try as many effects as you like and download the one you prefer.

How to use it

  1. Click Record and allow the microphone, then Stop; or open an audio file.
  2. Click an effect to hear it. Fine-tune the pitch, speed, echo or reverb if you want.
  3. Download the result as MP3 or WAV.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it live, on a call or in a game?
No. This tool changes recordings: you record or open a file, apply the effect and save it. Live voice changers need a program installed on the computer that creates a virtual microphone.

How do I make my voice sound like a woman or a man?
Use Higher voice or Deeper voice and then adjust the pitch: 3 to 5 semitones is usually enough. Large changes also move the resonances of the voice, which is what makes the chipmunk and monster effects sound cartoonish.

Is my recording saved anywhere?
No. The recording and the effects exist only in this browser tab and disappear when you close it. Download the result if you want to keep it.

Why does it sound a bit metallic?
Changing the pitch of a recording always leaves some artifacts, more with bigger changes and with music or noise in the background. A clean recording, close to the microphone in a quiet room, gives the best result.
