Omer (Biblical)
The omer is a biblical Hebrew unit of dry volume equal to one-tenth of an ephah, approximately 2.2 litres. It is notably mentioned in the Book of Exodus as the daily portion of manna gathered by each person in the wilderness. The omer is also the name of the 49-day counting period between Passover and Shavuot in Jewish tradition, named after this measure.
Liter
The litre (British and Commonwealth spelling) or liter (American spelling) (SI symbols L and l, other symbol used: ℓ) is a non-SI unit of volume. It is equal to 1 cubic decimetre (dm 3), 1000 cubic centimetres (cm 3) or 0.001 cubic metre. A cubic decimetre (or litre) occupies a volume of 10 cm × 10 cm × 10 cm (see figure) and is thus equal to one-thousandth of a cubic metre.
