Deuteron Mass

The deuteron mass (md) is the rest mass of a deuteron — the nucleus of deuterium (²H), consisting of one proton and one neutron — equal to approximately 3.34358 × 10⁻²⁷ kilograms or 1875.613 MeV/c². It is slightly less than the sum of a free proton and neutron mass, with the difference representing the nuclear binding energy of approximately 2.224 MeV. The deuteron is the simplest bound nuclear system and is extensively studied in nuclear and particle physics.

Kilogram

The kilogram (also kilogramme) is the base unit of mass in the metric system, formally the International System of Units (SI), having the unit symbol kg. It is a widely used measure in science, engineering, and commerce worldwide, and is often simply called a kilo in everyday speech.
